Composing Noosa Festival
Enjoy this 3-day music festival celebrating leading ensembles and highlighting inspiring international and local composers and performers. Don't miss out on the concerts, seminars and masterclasses. This is a golden opportunity to mingle with the performers and composers at festival parties.
Performers include Ensemble Offspring; Viney Grinberg piano duo; the Pacific Chamber Players with guest pianist Saxon Mills-Booth; and Roman, a solo pianist from Ukraine.
Concerts will showcase performances of new music composed in Noosa just for the festival, and classics loved by audiences.
Internationally renowned composers attending include Ofer-Ben Amots from Colorado; Paul Smith from Sydney; Rob Melbourne from Noosaville; Jan Jirasek from Prague; 17 music students from Colorado College; and three composers from Portugal, USA and UK.
Exciting and provocative topics will be explored in the “Creating a Noosa Sound” seminar. The seminar will be led by professors from local universities and presented by students from Colorado College. Festival musicians will impart their secrets and advice with local piano students in masterclasses. Audiences are invited to get a taste of the unique magic that happens on stage as students learn from the experts.

Composing Noosa is a new, not-for-profit community group of musicians and music aficionados. It is spearheaded by local music teacher and composer, Rob Melbourne.
