Don't Miss W;t at Noosa Arts Theatre

Catch W;T, the captivating drama by Margaret Edson, directed by Jeffrey S. Miller.
Known as a foremost expert on the Holy Sonnets of John Donne, Vivian Bearing is a brilliant and somewhat difficult professor of literature who is yet to face her biggest battle namely, a diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
Vivian is understandably unhappy about this. She agrees to undergo an experimental treatment that is bound to provide excellent research for the future of oncology. This treatment might not cure her though, but she is willing to take the risk. The tables have turned on the teacher who is now the student. Vivian is learning more than she’s ever bargained for and the lessons are hard. She’s forced to face sickness and regret, human kindness and medical progress. For the first time, she is facing the challenge she had studied and taught so well about Donne’s work and the phrase, “Death, be not proud,” has gained a whole new meaning.
W;T is both funny and poignant. It is completely relatable. Anyone who’s wondered about their life’s purpose, life and death will find this amazing work resonant. Dissecting John Donne’s beautiful poetry becomes a dissection of life and death.
Boston-based director Jeffrey S. Miller proudly brings W;t to audiences Down Under. A noted professor of theatre arts and director of productions in NYC, London, St Paul and San Diego, Jeffrey's recent directorial works include "Freud's Last Session", "Macbeth", "Shadowlands and new adaptions of "A Tale of Two Cities" and "Tartuffe".
