Noosa Festival of Surfing
Now in its 24th year, the Noosa Festival of Surfing has firmly established itself as the leading surf cultural event in the world. It is also the biggest surfing event in the world by competitor numbers (more than 600 entries from 14 countries in 2014).
From humble beginnings, the festival has grown into a week or more of fun, thrills and entertainment for surfers and spectators and their families from all over the world. With perfect waves on five point breaks, free movies and live bands plus cold beer and wine at the festival village right on the sand in front of the break, it’s the world’s best surf party.
Enjoy the sun, sand and surf and head over to Noosa. Whether you’re a competitor or a supporter, you’ll have the time of your life catching the waves and cheering for your favourite athletes. Don’t miss eight days of pure stoke.
Aside from all the asurfing action, you’ll also enjoy the music of Cheap Fakes. With two well received albums to their credit (2010’s ‘Stones & Sticks’ and 2012’s ‘Hand Me Downs’) and a resume littered with countless national supports (including The Black Seeds and Kora) as well as local billing with Cody Chesnutt, Charles Bradley and Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Cheap Fakes are preparing themselves for the upcoming release of their third LP, ‘Modern Vintage’. Their upcoming album will be the perfect summer soundtrack for the Cricks Noosa Festival of Surfing 2015. Jamming on the sand at First Point, the dapper dressed Brisbane sextet will be joining us for our opening evening of entertainment, kicking the festival off in style and setting the scene for 8 Days of Pure Stoke.
